I’ve always hated asking others for assistance even if it was a group activity and therefore expected. Most of the time I would, as you said, put it off for as long as I could or even try to find a way around it. It is just so hard for me to make requests of other people mostly because I’m shy and also because I have that “if you want something done right, do it yourself” mindset.

Doing things and task without willingness and heart is not enjoyable, plus the fact that you are just forcing yourself to do some task is not considered as an accomplishment of oneself. What is the use of being successful with certain project if you yourself does not admire your accomplishment. You must assess yourself first, the working environment and the people around, for you to make sure that positive environment /aura is just around.

Yes, working with others can sometimes hurt your work on a project or in general. It really depends on the field of work that you are in and what type of project you are working on, but I tend to get the work with others done first. However, one of the first things I do when a new project is handed over is research what type of software I may need. This is vital to the project and can possibly take awhile to find or order. Plus, receiving this software can get things kicked off faster and the project becomes more efficient.
